Surgery can correct disproportionately large, sagging breasts through removal of excess fat and tissue to create a smaller, better-positioned breast. Oversize breasts may affect many women, from young women to old women. This can cause physical and esthetic annoyances, such as backache, shoulder grooveness, emotional stress and low self-esteem.

The procedure to correct this problem consists on eliminating the excess skin, reducing mammary and fat tissue and relocating the complex areola-nipple to a more suitable position.

For this surgery, the incisions are performed generally around the nipple or in some cases, in the lower part of the breast (in the form of an anchor). This is an out patient procedure performed under local anesthesia. The recovery process is generally of two weeks.
