Mastopexy

Breast Lift (Mastopexy)
Also known as mastopexy, a breast lift raises and firms the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support the new breast contour. A woman’s breasts often change over time, losing their youthful shape and firmness. These changes and loss of skin elasticity can result from:
Pregnancy
Breastfeeding
Weight fluctuations
Aging
Gravity
Heredity
This problem may be corrected through a mastopexy surgery. This procedure consists on eliminating the excess skin, accommodating the mammary tissue and relocating the areola, resulting in a much firmer and younger form. In this particular surgery, incisions are made generally around the nipple or in some cases, around the areola and vertically down from the areola to the breast crease in form of an anchor. This is an out patient procedure performed under local anesthesia. Recovery time average is of two weeks.
