Breast Augmentation (Augmentation Mammaplasty)

Also known as augmentation mammaplasty, breast augmentation involves using implants to fulfill your desire for fuller breasts or to restore breast volume lost after weight reduction or pregnancy. A frequent problem that affects women’s self-esteem is the lack of development of the breasts or the loss of volume of the same. Increasing the fullness and having well proportioned breasts will make these women feel better and help increase their self-esteem.

A breast augmentation surgery will correct this problem by inserting implants into the breasts. At the moment, this aesthetic surgery is the most frequently done in the world. This surgical procedure consists on positioning high cohesive silicone implants underneath the mammary tissue. Incisions are made in inconspicuous areas to minimize visible scarring. You and your plastic surgeon will discuss which incision options are appropriate for your desired outcome. Incision options include:  Inframmary incision or periaerolar incision.

This is an out patient procedure performed under local anesthesia. The recovery time average is of one week.
