Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)

Also known as abdominoplasty, a tummy tuck removes excess fat and skin, and in most cases restores weakened or separated muscles creating an abdominal profile that is smoother and firmer.

Abdominal skin laxity is a frequent problem in women after pregnancies or individuals with significant fluctuations in weight.

Abdominal skin laxity is a frequent problem in women after pregnancies or people after losing weight. This problem consists on weakened abdominal muscles, and flacid skin in the same area.

Having an excess of fatty tissue and weakened abdominal muscles may be accompanied in the majority of cases by scars and stretch marks, causing deformity of the abdominal area, affecting the person’s self-esteem.

Generally, an incision is made at the inferior part of the abdomen allowing us to tighten the abdominal wall, eliminating the excess of skin and fat and reconstructing the navel. This type of procedure tends to be combined with liposuction to obtain a better corporal contour.

This intervention is generally performed with epidural anesthesia and sedation. One overnight stay on our luxurious private suites is required because of the use of drainages.

Recovery time average is of three weeks. The use of a compression garment for a period of a month is required.
